The escapades of an autistic daughter and her dad. Follow along to see what oddball posts will surface from the depths of the basement. In the words of Courtney Campbell, "Come on in and spend some time with us!"
This past month's anthem was "It's Gonna Be Me" by NSYNC. But in the next 24 hours....
It's gonna be GAY! (Hahaha. Pride humor.)
Anyways I have class on Saturday. Maybe we could keep an eye out for any garage sale signs on the way home that day? There's also a chance my friend from said class will be joining us at antique world. I'll talk about it with her parents.
Putin's infamy knows no bounds!
I have been made aware. I'm not too bothered since it's only Russia. If it were worldwide, then we'll talk.
Dad and I watched a good portion of the recent Wanda Sykes set on Netflix. We were both laughing the entire time! She truly is "SASSY." Maybe dad can pick up where we left off while I'm doing my own thing in the basement before our Soup2Nuts marathon.
My dad is hoping to retire next year and focus more on his Fenton Cherry III cartoons. And since he only ever really gets a few seconds of animation done at a time, I'd like to offer a proposition.
Dad, I have animators and artists helping me with my projects, I would like it if I could help YOU with your stuff sometimes! It'll get content out faster since I do a lot of animating myself, and that unfinished Fenton cartoon will at last be complete! My friends REALLY wanna see the finished product.
Maybe that could be something to think about over the weekend (when we aren't finishing the ref sheets for Fenton Mulley and a character that I won't say who it is juuuuust yet.)
In fact, I think I have an idea for an animation we planned out a long time ago, but never actually started on it...And since I've been using my 3DS again, now would be the time to work on it!
I found out a new Pokemon themed shop opened up in the area. In fact, it's in THE BOULEVARD MALL!!!! Looks like our father daughter day ritual has solved itself
Well...I have class NEXT weekend, followed by a trip to either Antique World or the EA flea market. Like the old man says, "We Shall See..."
Let's review tonight during our Soup2Nuts marathon\drawing session!
Got a convention on Saturday where I'll be seeing two of my friends! I'll be meeting up with one of them for lunch followed by thrifting at the Betterwill and the other will be at the convention.
Here's to hoping that there won't be any car issues on my way to bingo night (and to pick up those scrapbook supplies from Marketplace). ...Or cats falling in the bathtub.
Dad took the day off from work due to having an eye appointment later this afternoon. So we've been holding our Soup2Nuts marathon early since his eyes will be WRECKED for the next few hours after his appointment.
Right now we're working on selling some stuff that had been sitting in my room, collecting dust. We're gonna put them on Marketplace AND Craigslist and hope people are interested. One of these items is a Deku figure from My Hero Academia. I told my best friend if no one is interested in the Deku figure, it's his when he comes to visit.
UNRELATED: New trailer for Ruby Gillman!
Teenage girl finds out her family history includes turning into some sort of beast? Ummm... didn't we already see that movie?
I'll be meeting up with my friend at the Betterwill this weekend on our way to a convention. Here's hoping I'll find some more cool swag with a $60 budget. If not, I'm putting it aside for W&P.
Soup2Nuts marathon tomorrow night!
UPDATE: Someone on Etsy made Home Movies clay figures! Prices vary depending on the character, but they aren't cheap given that they're hand made and not mass produced. I looked through their shop and settled on the character I wanna get first.
It's not Shannon, but it'll have to do. Plus, you don't see much Duane fan merch out there.
It definitely looks like it's worth the $80 asking price. But I'll wait until after I've saved up for Walter and Perry.
I plan on staying home this weekend (with the exception of another outing I'm going to on Saturday night). And I thought of doing something productive over the weekend by trying to sell some stuff online. Mainly Craigslist for the time being. I already have a Barbie lot I've been meaning to put up on Craigslist seeing as it hasn't moved on Marketplace yet. Let's review tonight before our Soup2Nuts marathon.
Mom finally has a day off work, which means I also have some relaxation time! Well...Aside from having to see my shrink and meeting up with a friend later.
Went to Savers with mom and grandma today. Mom couldn't find anything for herself, but she found me some new shorts and I got myself some plushies and a fancy dress shirt for my grandma's birthday party in the coming months. We wound up playing what mom called "musical money" at the self checkout, which led me to check my account only to discover I had a discount, which I used on me and my mom's purchase.
Here's my haul (minus the dress shirt and shorts)
Was genuinely surprised to find the Hamilton CD since it's such a popular musical.
The Soup2Nuts marathon continues tonight... How does Wordgirl sound?
Mom's working 4 day this week!!! And that's a lot of Wordgirl\Home Movies. Another thing I wanna try doing on worknights is figuring out how to do AI song covers! I saw an AI cover of Bruno Mars singing "Golden Hour" and it was VERY convincing.
I already know the website name, I just wanna see what artists are available to emulate.
Since Christmas of 2015, it's been a "tradition" of sorts that I usually get some of my most wanted video games for birthday and Christmas. This case is no different with today's release "Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom." Which is meant to serve as a sequel to Breath of the Wild. I'm pretty sure you can still tame your own horse and *hopefully* summon Wolflink to aid you on your adventures (if you have the Midna and Wolflink amibo that is...). Speaking of horses, I should probably get the Smash Bros Link amibo so I can unlock Epona in BOTW!
One difference I will point out is this game will now cost 10 dollars more than a normal Switch title would. So instead of being $60, Nintendo chose to make this game $70. Why? Because $$$$$
The other day on Twitter, somebody made a post about how some people in the cartoon\animation community are so quick to judge new cartoons because "they're the reason ____ is gone." This has been the case with a new cartoon that I currently can't remember the name of which just premiered on Disney channel shortly after The Owl House just ended. The post was one of those meme things where it said "The animation community judging ____ because of TOH:" And showed a clip from Toddworld of all shows. Unfortunately, the post has since been deleted, but seeing a clip from a childhood show that I'm 99% sure I was the only one who watched was kinda funny.
Reminder we're having another Soup2Nuts marathon tomorrow night!
Remember this?
Very funny. My friends and I were just talking about Cyberchase.
Aside from this being our 700th blog, mom and I get to stay home most of the day....Until the meeting tonight, that is. We'll be getting a bite to eat afterwards though.
We also have the WORLD'S LARGEST YARD SALE this weekend, got a little over $30 in cash.
In other news, our friends at Defunctland have uploaded a new video. And it's a doozy!
We've created a new ritual on nights where mom is usually at work. I have dubbed these as "The Soup2Nuts Marathon" where we wind up watching a bunch of our favorite Soup2Nuts shows. So far, it's only been Wordgirl and Home Movies, but maybe we could throw Science Court into the mix one night? (Not tonight, though. Not really in a Science Court sorta mood at the moment. That is prone to change of course but I'll lyk).
In other unrelated news, this 6 second clip from a YTP I edited this past week has over 800 VIEWS?!
Unfortunately, we are not talking about the movie based off of ABBA's songs. We're talking about the smash hit MARIO MOVIE!
Holy shit was this movie a lot to take in! The visuals, the voice cast, the soundtrack! EVERYTHING hit all the right noteblocks! Obviously since I'm the "gamer" of the house, I knew most of the references while my dad still had a fair amount of Mario knowledge, but missed a few of the references (like the DK Rap).
Story was what you'd expect from something Mario related. But with a couple twists. Firstly, we got to see Mario and Luigi's lives OUTSIDE the Mushroom Kingdom. They're just your average Joes trying to start their own plumbing business! But suddenly, TRAGEDY strikes as Luigi is SUCKED into a warp pipe and shot into the "Dark Lands." And instead of Mario saving Princess Peach, he teams up with her (and Toad) to save Luigi from the evil Bowser! Who by the way, is a meme-star at the moment ever since the movie's release (thanks to the brilliant casting of Jack Black).
Overall, I expected the movie to be good, and they delivered! Nintendo and Illumination have since confirmed there would be more movies in the works (fingers crossed for Legend of Zelda or Animal Crossing). Let's hope they'll continue this path of greatness moving forward.
Oh, and did I mention this was done by Illumination?
Yes...THAT Illumination (whom are ALSO responsible for the Sing movies!)
Anyway, I'll shut up now. Let's allow my dad to throw in his 2 cents.
For years I thought Mario and Luigi were pizza delivery guys. (Spoiler alert!) Turns out they're plumbers! Hope I didn't ruin it for everyone.
The Mario Bros. Movie delivered the expected candy-colored CGI action sequences. I only really know Chris Pratt from "Parks & Recreation," and I have to say I really didn't recognize his voice here. Musing: They spent quite a bit of time establishing that he and his brother were born & bred in Brooklyn. Must have been the Ohio section of Brooklyn.
Don't get me wrong, it was an enjoyable fun ride. But, having seen the SONIC 2 movie, I guess these things always have to end with a giant, city-destroying battle back on Earth. Still, a great voice cast and enough funny dialog to keep this old geezer entertained.
Note to daughter: I will not be going to see the Barbie movie this summer. I have to draw the line somewhere.
If Michael Cera was cast as Ken and not Allen, I'd go. But we won't be venturing back to the cinemas until June for "Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken" and "Elemental."
Hopped onto Marketplace this morning and saw a garage sale that is unfortunately too far away from our house to drive to. What makes me even more butthurt is THIS!
GEMMY POP CULTURE ITEMS!!! ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
And the James Brown one is one of my ISOS too (along with Hank Williams Jr.)
This Video Right Here! (For SOME reason, the YouTube site on Blogger won't allow you to search for videos under shorts). Still have yet to actually tune into some of Wanda Sykes. Somebody told me that she's "sassy."
So, I was talking with mom about what would be a good time for us to go to the movies. I told her about this weekend, but then she reminded me grandma would be staying with US over the weekend, so no dice. But then she suggested the two of us go on Monday since dad has the day off in favor of an important appointment. Anyways... How does Monday sound... Unless there something else that needs to be OVERCOMPLICATED!!!!
This morning has been... Odd.
I go downstairs, water and morning meds in one hand, current comfort budsie in the other. I look around and think "What's that smell coming from?" And I figured it might have just be me smelling the cat boxes being cleaned out upstairs. I sit in my office chair and see that there's a big pile of cat vomit INCHES away from my Barbie Dreamhouse!!! (Dreamhouse was still in tact, thank goodness). I called mom down and she taught me how to clean up these unfortunate messes, even though I use to be on cleaning duty back when Chloe was still alive. I assume everything is fine now and sit back in my office chair. But suddenly I had to use the bathroom and just as I'm about to go upstairs, I hear "Oh my God, there's a piece of poop laying here!" So yeah... Cat was stressed out, and led to a few mishaps. Is this REALLY gonna be our day?
In other news, I found this audio of Mitch Hedberg dealing with a heckler in the audience.
Just started scripting for my fan series again and I've mad SO many backup scripts that I have to go through all of them to see what's to be kept or discarded.
Anyways, no flea market this week. World's Largest Yard Sale here we come! (Next weekend).
Current Mood:
Mother suggested that afternoon that we see the Mario movie this weekend after class. This is your reminder to smuggle two water bottles. I'm using this week's allowance for popcorn money.
Finished all the animated parts. Just need to add ALL THE LYRICS!!!!
"I like Wanda Sykes... she's sassy!"
Not my fault the delivery was PRICELESS! Maybe we could see if Wanda is still doing stand-up and might be on tour? Currently going through another one of my Hedberg phases, though.
