Daddy Daughter Days: Hard At Work

On the last scene of my pilot. Production has been going well and I'm even considering making an April Fools day episode where everything is live action instead of animated. That plan will be discussed in a matter of months. But for now, both creators are excited to see how the finished product will turn out.

And for whatever reason, I'm feeling oddly nostalgic for another foreign show I grew up with. One that also was given the "CGI downgrade" in the early 2000s.

YIKES!!!!

Fun fact: Calico Critters made a bunch of Angelina themed sets for the original series back in the day (albeit, they were only exclusive to the UK.)

That's better

Daddy Daughter Days: Off to A Good Start

The weekend went by so fast it gave me whiplash. But Monday seems to be off to a great start! Got some more work to do on my projects, Lynn Shawcroft liked some of my Mitch content on Instagram, and we should hopefully be getting news on this week's South Park episode!

If that's the case, one of us will probably link a trailer soon enough.

Randomly generated comic created by....ME!
UPDATE: Just saw the trailer for this week's episode and...

Everything seems great other than it's probably a Tegridy episode since Randy is wearing his Tegridy Farms getup.

Daddy Daughter Days: Lacking Energy

Dad and I have been exhausted ALL DAY. But we got a bite to eat at the Chinese Buffet and I'm currently working on a very important milestone as someone who's been online for a long time.

And once it's all on video, this will be the song playing in the background.

Daddy Daughter Days: Brendon. Ever Heard of AI?

Last night, I was messing around on a site called Craiyon. Where it's basically an AI generator where you put in a bunch of words to try an generate an AI photo. Well last night I tried a cluster ton of keywords involving Home Movies and these are two of the best and finest images that surfaced.

More coming soon *hopefully*

Daddy Daughter Days: Making Plans

It's Friday, I slept in, we're *hopefully* getting fish fry dinners tonight (better jot that into my journal I started last night). And I've been planning my birthday celebration 9 months AHEAD OF TIME?!

Speaking of birthdays

Happy birthday, Mitch. If you were still around today, we'd be attending EVERY CONCERT!!!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'd better continue planning how to celebrate my own birthday. Both people involved can't wait for this to happen :)

Daddy Daughter Days: Dreams Becoming A Reality

So, dad. I'm gonna need you to help me with a more...Personal project this weekend. I'm not gonna be too specific on here, but let's just say we'll need to buy another folding mattress because I'm not struggling to carry two bags of plushies to the basement again.

Idk if mom told you already, but if not, I'll fill you in tonight.

No idea what this is about.  Let's review tonight...

Daddy Daughter Days: Progress Report

No new South Park episode until 3\1. So this will give me a lot of extra time to focus on my project. Speaking of, here's a small update I shared to my channel yesterday.

Look at this, dad!
Happier times...

Daddy Daughter Days: LEGALLY FUNNY

We sat through the latest South Park episode last night, and this goes without saying in my book. But this was the first time in AGES that Matt and Trey managed to hold a streak of 2 good episodes. And you just KNOW the portrayal
of Prince Harry and Princess Megan were on point when you find out their real life counterparts are considering taking legal action over how offended they were by their South Park counterparts. I personally give this one a 10\10.

Also this scene was pretty funny, too.

What did you think of the episode, dad?

A total winner. Everyone's a victim and unless we simultaneously pay attention to them AND respect their privacy we are the problem. Stan & Butters branding subplot made a pretty good point on the whole on-line persona / influencer-wanna-be situation, as well.

I didn't know the Prince was such a big drumming enthusiast, so, you know, "I learned something today."

Also, I heard about what happened to Tommy's YouTube channel. Hope he can get this resolved because people who have had their accounts disabled\banned for invalid reasons have had success in getting their channels back. So not all hope is lost!

Update: Well, you called it! Tommy's channel is back up & running as of Tuesday morning! Yay!

Daddy Daughter Days: It Takes Patience.

I stopped at Walgreens with my dad the other day, seeing as he needed to pick up some prescriptions. So I brought some spending money with me in case I found something I'd be interested in, say a figure or plushie.

Well I got stuffed poodle from the extremely marked down Valentine's Day section. Originally sold for a whopping $20, got it for $4.

One thing that DID catch my eye, were MGA's new "Make it Minis" lineup. These things have been selling like hotcakes and I just HAD to get my toy collector hands on at least ONE of them!
To catch you up to speed: MGA is best known for creating a variety of toy lines, specifically "LOL Surprise" and the line that this comes from, Mini Brands. Mini Brands are basically miniature versions of different food and toy brands. I often use these with my AATC plushies or Littlest Pet Shops. And the latest edition to this ever popular toy line are the "Make It Mini: Miniverse" toys.

These are basically a kids version of assembling and customizing your own DnD figure. Each set comes with individual pieces and a bottle of resin meant to resemble a food item like maple syrup. I wound up assembling a lemon tart this past weekend and...It was a PAIN to assemble.

First there was the resin. I unscrewed the cap and it had the SMALLEST seal I've ever seen on a toy. So I took an exact-o knife and hacked at it for at least 2 minutes before mom came in and helped to the best she could. After that mess was done, I had to squeeze the resin onto the fake pie crust and use some tweezers to carefully assemble the miniature fruit pieces (lemons and blueberries) and well....

Thank you for your assistance during this painful process, Eleanor.

Will I be blowing another $8 on one of these again? Yes, but it all starts with getting my nail biting habit under control.

Daddy Daughters Days: Just Another Satuday

Had film class, did some storyboards and editing. I've got a furmeet tonight.

Right now, I'm busy with an original project of mine that's been in the works since late December\early January. So I haven't had time (or patience for that matter) to work on stuff like Home Movies REVAMPED or any of my other projects.

Here are a few slides from what I have so far!

Part of a flashback scene I'm currently working on

Recently updated cartoon model of my best friend.

Both of us (me and the previously mentioned best friend) have teamed up on previous animated works, which was actually how we met. He messaged me, offering to provide his beginner voice talents for Home Movies REVAMPED during it's early days, as well as the position of a writer. I gladly accepted since I wanted this project to be a more than one person show. Fast forward 3 years and the both of us are still teaming up with our creative brains.

As you can tell by the art style, both of us took inspiration from the "Scott Pilgrim" series since he kinda got me into that franchise a couple of months after we met. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to work!

Daddy Daughter Days: A Sequence

Check out this animation sequence I did.

Looks good - I can't wait to see it in context!

I've also cancelled all future SP reviews until this is finished. Guess it's just us tuning in to these episodes. I saw an excerpt of last night's and it was REALLY funny. Might wanna see where we could possibly download future episodes.

And stay tuned for the premiere of my new show on 6\18!!!
WE ARE BLEACH!

Daddy Daughter Days: Rung Out

Two positives came out of today. The first one being I finally get to start production now that my best friend submitted his lines.

Secondly, I hit a Goodwill today and this is what I got (no chipmunks though).

3 beautiful pups! (The one on the left is named Casey).

Daddy Daughter Days: $7 Deal!

Dad and I ate out at DQ last night. And when we parked our car, dad took notice of a poster for the "bacon queso burger" as part of a $7 meal deal which includes the burger, plus fries, a drink, and your option of a sundae or a blizzard.

I liked the burger itself. Had a decent amount of queso and  the bacon was just how I like it. Dad, however, didn't really care for it as he prefers to have his bacon made a certain way. So after we had our dinner, we picked up something for mom at Charlie the Butcher.

This week's project: Home Moviesklok!!!

Daddy Daughter Days: Nothing Says Sunday Like...A SUNDAE!!!

Dad and I had an EXTRA busy day at pantry since a lot of people were coming before kickoff. We were packing orders left and right, and when dad would try to help me out, he'd get swept away with having to restock items. But we managed to get our job done nonetheless.

Earlier, we were talking about what to get for dinner since we usually order out on Sunday nights. Mom had been harping on about wanting to get a pizza from one of our local places, but we figured it wouldn't be a good idea due to the Superbowl. So dad and I are going to DQ this evening (and bringing something home for mom since she's working).

It's a real SUNDAE night I tell ya h'what!

Daddy Daughter Days: A Productive Weekend

Dad's at a friend's house, working on some projects together. And while he's doing that, I've been cooking up some own works too. Without giving a lot of details, let's just say I've been using Audacity a lot more than usual...

Daddy Daughter Days: WHY?!

Disney recently announced some of their upcoming animated movies. The two that I'm most excited about are Zootopia 2 and Inside Out 2 (hope Lewis Black reprises his role as anger). But there are two movies that people AREN'T so jazzed about. (Though one of the two has rather mixed reception).

Toy Story 5: WHY?! Why do we need a 5TH FILM!!! 3 had a perfect ending and 4 was very obviously just a cashgrab! I actually saw Toy Story 4 in theaters with my dad and grandma back when it first came out and man was I bored. Sure, the graphics were magnificent, I'll at leave give the film THAT, but making a 4th movie just so Woody could reunite with one specific toy he hasn't seen in years is FUCKING POINTLESS!!! Will we be tuning in? Chances are 50\50.

Frozen 3: Now, come on. We were ALL expecting this to happen. I've only seen the first Frozen movie and I thought it was alright, though since it came out a DAY before my 10th birthday (and I wouldn't see it until a year later), even then I thought it was alright. Though of course, as any kid would, I really had a liking towards the song "Let It Go" which I've since had mutual feelings towards in recent years. I haven't seen Frozen 2 in full, but I've listened to a couple of songs from the soundtrack. My favorite song from this particular installment was "Into the Unknown" of course. I probably won't be watching 2 or the upcoming third movie anytime soon, but that's prone to change.

And while this isn't exactly "Disney." Be warned dad, the cesspool of Scooby Doo reboots has NOT ended yet...

UGH!!!

Daddy Daughter Days: Ye...

South Park premiered its 26th season last night with "Cupid Ye" and just by that title alone, I already know who they're gonna be mocking in this episode. As I'm tpying this, I'm about to watch the episode. I'll get back to you all with my thoughts and opinions (and a review which will premiere on Saturday).

UPDATE: Finished "Cupid Ye." This was the PERFECT way to kick off the season. The jokes were really funny. Everything was fast paced, and there was a very interesting plot twist towards the end that not even long time fans would have suspected!
10\10

What does the AV club have to say about the episode, dad?

Daddy Daughter Days: A Fairly Odd Cartoon

Butch Hartman is known for his work on various Nickelodeon shows that many a Gen Z kid (like myself) grew up with. His most well known being "The Fairly OddParents" and "Danny Phantom" respectively. Butch left Nick a few years ago to work on his own indie projects. One of those would turn out to be...The Garden.

"The Garden" is an animated Christian children's show starring Lenny the lion and Lucy the lamb (a reference in Christian media I've never seen before. Nice one!) And each episode has the two main characters doing various tasks assigned by "The Boss" (who is obviously God in this series). Originally, Butch was selling the first few episodes for $130, but a kind soul on YouTube uploaded them (and a more recent episode) for FREE! So I thought it would be fun to sit through at least ONE episode and give my own thoughts.

The first season (6 episodes) were very short, with a 6 minute runtime. I sat through the first episode "Seeds of Love." This episode shows Lenny and Lucy being tasked to plant a bunch of mixed seeds in the garden. One of these seeds being a "love seed" which I'm sure you all know where this is going. This drives home the lesson about loving your neighbor and that's it. I thought it was a decent cartoon, albeit a bit rushed and bland. But The person who so kindly uploaded these to YouTube also posted a more recent episode called "The Truth is the MANE Thing." Maybe we could sit through THAT this weekend?

Sure. Can't imagine it being as good as VeggieTales, though.

Daddy Daughter Days: Niko on 35mm

Kind of amazed that there are 35mm theatrical prints of this.

(Sadly, this is an Italian dub, with no Norm Macdonald.)

Such an amazing find! Wonder what other Niko lost media could be out there!

Also, today is Emo Phillips's birthday!!!

Daddy Daughter Days: Quite The Spook

Woke up at 6:22 this morning to the sound of what I thought was thunder at first. At this time, dad was still getting ready to go to work and I heard him say "What was that?!" And I fell back asleep again.

Then I woke up at 9:05 when mom came to check on me, she informed me that there had been an earthquake a couple of hours ago, which explains what happened earlier. Overall, this has been quite the shaky (pun not intended) start to the week...

Daddy Daughter Days: The Most Brutal Mall walk

Dad and I got back to doing mall walks today, and suggested we hit up the food court after making the rounds and browsing a few of the stores. Sadly, nothing I was looking at was in the budget. So, we both left empty handed, but stomachs full. We got to the food court around 5ish and looked at the many options. Dad chose an Indian joint and I, being the narrow-minded autistic, chose a New York style pizza booth.

My dinner consisted of two four cheese pizza slices with a side of breadsticks and a large drink. While the slices were really good, the breadsticks were a bit dry and too heavy on the seasoning for my preference. Overall, good dinner. though next time, I'll skip the sticks. (9.5\10).

What about you, dad?

The mall food court has so many different choices! We'd walk past it, and the smell would always slay me.

The combination of Indian, Japanese, Chinese and what-all odors are Valhalla on Earth!

I got a rice and entree combo at the Indian place.  Chicken Tika Masala plus some mixed vegs.  It was only "OK." But at least I finally scratched that Mall Food Court itch.

Daddy Daughter Days: Below Freezing

Daddy Daughter Days: Those Were The *Somewhat Traumatic* Days...

Went digging through some old photos today, and I'd never expect to stumble upon this again after almost 3 years.

The following was taken on 9\7\2020. Just 2 days after getting my Shannon plush in the mail. Hard to believe it will be 3 YEARS (in September) since I got him. Plus, I got an update on McGuirk yesterday saying they're picking out the fabric.

I sure don't miss having those braces...

Daddy Daughter Days: "Off To The Movies We Shall Go!"

My dad and I got to see "South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut" for the movie's 25th anniversary! I'm aware of the fact th...
