The escapades of an autistic daughter and her dad. Follow along to see what oddball posts will surface from the depths of the basement. In the words of Courtney Campbell, "Come on in and spend some time with us!"
Our regularly scheduled "dad night" has been postponed due to me trick or treating with a friend. In the meantime, I'll be watching the Camp Camp episode I WOULD'VE picked for tonight's session if it were to happen.
Night of the Living Ill is fun and all, but this should CERTAINLY be considered a Halloween episode!
Plus I've actually grown to like Harrison as of late! So much so that well... Dad already knows the answer to that. Maybe after we get that custom pillow a certain someone mentioned a few weeks ago...
I have another episode to animate. I finally scored the soundtrack last night after struggling to come up with anything good. I have it scheduled to premiere at the end of November. So with that comes some of that valuable crunch time...
Does ANY of this sound familiar to you, dad...? 😄
I mean... At least I'm not struggling to use a fax machine or use windows 98 to animate stuff.
We were using Windows Vista on a computer that was "Windows 95 ready!" But at LEAST we got to make cartoons on it! Still need to worry about my personal archive when I'm not filming my beanie babies.
Imagine how much of a nightmare THAT must be!
Time for the mouth sync. ...All...That....Mouth sync....
Church had ANOTHER fellowship related event today where they were serving "Paula's Donuts" this afternoon. They always welcome us pantry volunteers to join in as well, so I got myself a cream cheese filled donut and went to tell dad about what went on. He told me to bring him "the plainest donut I could find." And I did.
Anyways, I'm making a ref sheet of my fursona right now for a future project since my overall art style with her HAS improved and I made a slight design change that would make her old design outdated.
A lady messaged me on Facebook marketplace last night in regards to a Build a Bear lot. She told me that her twin passed away this year and used to have one of the bears in the lot and was wondering if she could buy just that bear and have it shipped to her. I told her that we don't do shipping unfortunately and gave my condolences, and she thanked me for at least responding.
But yknow, I can't help but feel bad though. This is more of an "if I could, I would" situation.
In other news, that new South Park special just premiered last night. The plot synopsis is... Interesting... Maybe while I'm at the party, dad could pirate it for us to watch since we can't afford multiple streaming services.
Going to a Halloween party with a friend tomorrow night, our theme is "Pink Ladies" even though I wanted to go as Tina Belcher. So I compromised and will be going as Tina dressed as a pink lady.
The finale was what we expected from a Crash Canyon episode, randomness with not a single hint of plot. But this time, it was different. Norm wants to bring the "canyonites" together for...Something, but nobody's interested. Midway through the episode, a suicidal man falls into the canyon, with his attempt only being stopped by a bush. Antics ensue.
Now my overall thoughts on the show...
Like we said when we first started watching, it had a high concept, but still had enough cutaway gags and overall art design to keep it tied down to "Family Guy Ripoff" status. Would I recommend it? Yes! Whether you're a fan of TV show clones, or are a stoner looking for a cartoon to watch while getting high, or just... Anyone looking for a funny cartoon to watch on Tubi, this is the one for you. My overall rating would be a 7.5\10.
How about you, dad?
I could take it or leave it. (Trending toward "leave it," gotta be honest.) Glad to see that Canada was able to reverse-engineer the Family Guy algorithm and mash it up with Gilligan's Island. There were no likeable characters and very few laughs. I wonder if there were kids in Saskatchewan carrying "Crask Canyon" lunch boxes to school?
I just finished watching an essay on the one show that sucked me into the furry fandom.
Turns out one of the test pilots was just found recently too!
So in response, I made a little drawing because I felt inspired.
Turns out the show is also on Tubi. Don't get any ideas, dad. We're stickin with "Crash Camp." That Crash Canyon show isn't gonna finish itself. And last night's episode was kind of a downer.
We went to the "Betterwill" today with my grandma this afternoon and I made out pretty good in finds today.
They don't have names just yet, the one on the right is scented like strawberries!
And sorry to break it to you dad (and Max), but we are not naming either of them Honeynuts. But the bunny on the right DOES have a Honey Girls dress on!
Now onto clothes!
This cute winter pajama set
Power Puff Girls sweatpants!!!!
Mom was worried that the sweatpants wouldn't fit because they were "short around the ankles." But I tried them on in the dressing room and proved her wrong. Not sure if I'll use them as regular pants or pajama bottoms.
There's been a new indie project going around this past week. One that for a while, I haven't gotten around to watching yet. But tonight, we did! Ladies and gents, may we present to you....
THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS!
The only reason I know about this show's existence is because a company known as "Glitch Productions" is attached to it. I know Glitch mostly because of their most well known work, the SMG4 videos. But this has to be one of their most ambitious projects to date!
Unfortunately, I was busy making concept designs for my own characters. So I didn't keep up with everything that was going on other than "human gets stuck in digital circus, Angel Dust's former VA is in this, and everything SCREAMS Kidcore." But from what I DID pick up, the show has a lot of heart and thought put into it and I can't wait to see what lies ahead for it. Maybe we might just stick around?
Your thoughts, dad?
I was impressed! I was expecting something really lame and smug; it was neither of those things.
I had to look up the voice cast, because I kept thinking Ragartha sounded like Gwen from Camp Camp.
But nope.
WOW! Elsie Lovelock is in this?! Color me impressed!
Will it go to series and be our next Smiling Friends success story? "We shall see."
Look, I know I said I'm not a fan of the official Max plush, but if I ever spot one (or more) at a Goodwill or Savers, you bet I'm snatching him up!
Same goes for Muack even though there's a ton of her on Ebay rn.
Also one of my online friends who I introduced to Camp Camp is currently watching my favorite episode! He says he'll share his thoughts with me once he's finished!!! (No, this isn't Mel. It's someone else.)
Mel still has yet to see this episode anyways, so it'll happen eventually.
Sure, Parents Day is a great episode, but Party Pooper has to be the best one so far!
The second best being "Cookin' Cookies" which we saw last night! (You know that's my favorite!)
Been seeing these on TikTok and other social media platforms. Mom doesn't wanna carry Belle in a normal cage because of obvious reasons, so why not try THIS?
It's a cat backpack!
The basic thing is you're just supposed to carry your cat inside this thing (and yes there are breathing holes). Wouldn't it be cute to see the cats being carried around in this, dad?
The heck with the cats, I want to be carried around in that thing!
This is in promotion for Build a Bear's "Merry Mission" movie coming out this year I believe. Not sure if I plan on seeing it, but we know that I'm DEFINITELY buying that Glisten when my aunt comes in for my birthday next month.
Here's the trailer! Just as cheesy of a plot as "A Very Minty Christmas."
The church where our volunteer job is had a "trunk or treat" event this afternoon during work hours. And luckily, there were a good amount of people there at work today besides us that were already helping. So after packing about 3 orders, we went out to get some candy. Turned out there was also a bake sale happening at this event too, so my dad bought TWO homemade pies. Pecan for us, and strawberry rhubarb for my mom.
I don't think we need to worry about dinner tonight...
So apparently Disney is doing a live action remake of "Bambi" now... Now usually I'm a bit of a Disney remake apologist despite the only one I've seen being the 2018 remake of "The Lion King" which by the way, it was a good remake. But what is the complaint behind the Bambi remake, you may ask? They're taking out the death scene (allegedly). And a lot of people who grew up with the original are pretty upset by this since well, this scene was an "important" part to the story. But as someone who grew up with the original and its sequel, I may actually plan on seeing this when it hits theaters.
Bloodwork was done today. I thought they wanted a couple tubes and I'd be done with it. But NOPE! Turns out the doctor wanted 8 TUBES worth of my blood. Now I am sitting at my desk with a sore arm as I prepare to rework Gwen's ref sheet. Ah, 30 fINCHES.
Maybe if we find a purple hoodie like the one pictured above, we can tailor it to fit the plush?
FYI dad: It costs between $40-$60 to get a custom pillow from Budsies. I checked. Might consider saving for a specialty budsie of Mariel (catdragon) now that the waitlist is over.
So yesterday, I had to go for bloodwork. But the doctor who wanted the labs told me I didn't have to fast! So we got to the blood lab and I was in... Less than a good mood because I am NOT a fan of things being sprung on me at the last minute. Once I sat in the chair, the nurse went on the computer and asked if I has fasted. I said no. Well APPARENTLY, one of the tests DID require me to fast, so now we have to go back tomorrow morning. Great... (At least I'm aware this time.)
Gonna finally get back to work on some projects in the meantime. Motivation has been very low for the past few days, so I'm gonna try and get myself back into the swing of things.
But at least there's pizza.
A suggestion for the weekend (depending on the budget.)
Dad. I think I found the worst commercial ever.
At least child me wouldn't want this if it were playing on Qubo.
This is either comedy or stupidity. (I'm guessing the first one, but..?)
I was gonna see if we'd be down for a long overdue "cheapskate night," but mom says she doesn't have the funds and would need to put it off until next week.
Pop tarts for dinner it is. (I mean that's KIND of cheap skate-y, right?)
Rather than use Tubi to watch Camp Camp tonight, we'll be using the Rooster Teeth website because the two episodes we wanna watch aren't on Tubi *yet.*
Plus I'm actually composing some music for the fan project I'm voice acting\writing in. Camp Camp is about to become a rock opera!!!
Someone is supposed to come by this afternoon to pick up a game from me. I also got ANOTHER message last night about a game, which I only answered just now because last night was my new writer friend's birthday and he wanted to do a video call with me to celebrate. We wound up watching two episodes of "Lucy: Daughter of the Devil." And I gotta admit, it was pretty funny. A lot of the Home Movies\Bob's Burgers cast are in it too (H. Jon, Melissa G., Sam Seder, etc.).
I will be ordering my second to last Home Movies Budsie tonight. Got the "cash in hand" as well as a paycheck for that film shoot I helped with\got to be in.
I still have yet to watch it. Been very busy.
BTS!
I just need ONE MORE CHARACTER after this one and then we'll move onto Camp Camp!
I made $50 yesterday. Mom said I can order Fenton tomorrow since I'll have the money. In the meantime, someone messaged about another game I have for sale, fingers crossed this comes though!
Last night's quote: "He's a good screamer."
It sure doesn't top "He is downloading an apology." But still funny though.
Someone is stopping by on Friday afternoon to buy a game off me. If all goes well, I should be getting $10 out of this.
Our internet was out for a couple hours. So I killed some time filming and getting some stuff done around the house. Guy who was supposed to buy the Pokemon game is *supposedly* coming tonight due to a change in schedule yesterday. Someone else messaged me about a Barbie vehicle I've had up for a while. I left the option of bundling another Barbie lot with the item if the customer was interested, but it'd be an extra $5 (vehicle is $15).
Will update soon. Also, good to know our late night guys are back! See you for Crash Campbell tonight, dad!
