Daddy Daughter Days: Another Day Off.

Mom and I ditched the furmeet last night cuz my friend couldn't make it, and that there is a new group MUCH closer to the house (this one will still continue as normal). But we made up for it by going to Dennys while dad was still sick at home.

Highly recommend getting these while they're still available.

Hope we can go back to Dennys again sometime! Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the flea market next Sunday.

Daddy Daughter Days: The Best Night in AGES!

For the first time in a while, I finally got out of the house and not have to worry about stuff behind the scenes. Was about a 40 minute drive, but we got there eventually. We arrived an hour before the show started, so we killed some extra time with taking some photos!

Al and Emo put on a fabulous show that night! If I could relive what would be my FIRST CONCERT EVER, I would do so in a heartbeat! One more thing, though....
Looks like our concert adventures are far from stopping!

Daddy Daughter Days: I'm Not Just Sure....I'm No Longer Covid Positive!

Here's the plan.

Get directions to concert hall

Find out the time

Pack our earplugs

And some other stuff....

Yep! That's the plan!

Daddy Daughter Days: 24 Hours Remaining

Until the Weird Al + Emo Phillips concert. Just gotta get a hold of a good Shannon photo to take with me.

Won't be this one sadly

Daddy Daughter Days: Just Our Luck...

Mom was going through some items to get rid of because "In case we have to move again, I'm not hauling all this shit with me." Which, as stupid as this sounds, I kind of feel sad about it. I'm not a hoarder by any means, but that's just my honest to God reaction, I'll figure the answer out SOMEDAY.

So mom scheduled a pick-up with one of our local charities, no problem! We waited and waited, but they never came to pick up the *at least* 10 boxes of books and toys. And while they did take the toys, all of the books were still left over! So this morning, we called the charity again and they were complaining how "the boxes were too flimsy" and were "too heavy." Flimsy our ass. We used some sturdy Amazon boxes that were just laying around

So since they weren't gonna take our offer, we stopped at Amvets on the way to another errand. My mom and I drove to the donation part of the building. A nice guy came out to help us out.

Guy: So what do you guys have?

Mom: Oh, we just have some books.

Guy: I'm so sorry, we are currently not taking books at this time.

So much for that.... So we tried stopping at the "City Mission" thrift store. While we did have luck, the employee helping my mom with the boxes was really rude. From now on, we're just gonna donate stuff to Savers or Goodwill.

Daddy Daughter Days: LET'S GO TO BRAZIL II

We got our first and only image for "The Smiling Friends Go To Brazil!" yesterday, and let me tell you it looks INCREDIBLE!

Gotta wait just a bit longer before I can actually see it (please hit the Adult Swim website so low income fans can watch it!!!!) That or we can just cancel our Netflix subscriptions and move to HBO Max.

Daddy Daughter Days: Guess Who's Got Two Thumbs And Covid?

MY DAD!!!! (Don't worry, folks. He'll be able to get me to the Weird Al concert by the time he's done in quarantine). Don't have much to post HERE, but I'd suggest checking out our art blog "The Man From E.G.G." for our next Smiling Friends art dump.

Daddy Daughter Days: Gotta Catch Em All!

Dad stopped at the Con for me to buy some Pokemon in place of my absence. I had a few specifics (by few I mean at least 2 or 3) that I offered him to keep an eye out for. He ultimately decided to just buy two of the bags and head out cuz he had an appointment to head to at 3:00.

Didn't get too many fucked up ones this time, but here are the ones I did get that have some defects.

Nothing wrong with this Pikachu other than a couple paint chips

This one is supposed to be pink and blue I believe

LOTS of paint chips on this one

A comparisons between the two (I got the one on the left today)

This Torchic is probably the least derpy despite the eyes being off center

Don't remember the name, But I know its an evolution after Mudkip

A comparison between a fully painted Snivy and my poorly made one from a year ago.

And what I'd say was the worst of the entire batch.

I'll be seeing another vendor of mine in a couple of weeks (the same personI was supposed to meet up with last weekend), so more of these will be making our way to my little box of doom. Speaking of....

Decorating time!!!!!

Daddy Daughter Days: Let's Go To Brazil!

As of yesterday morning, we got an official update on that Smiling Friends special.

Fans (myself included) were eager for conformation from one or both of the creators, and I had a feeling this was real right from the start. But we got our thumbs up after Zack Hadel (Charlie both in the show and irl) retweeted the announcement, which means everything on Rotten Tomatoes is 100% official. So let's mark our calendars for August 7th (or 6th if you have cable).
I don't have my "cheese ritual" image on me rn, so this will do.

Hope Alan and Glep get more time in the limelight. Do it for the fans!

So, this is considered an extra episode for season one, I see.

Almost forgot to share the Mimi pics I got yesterday.

She loves to roll on the table. But wait, there's more!

Yep. Yesterday was a day filled with Mimi Mischief!

Footage of the new Caillou reboot. the voice acting is actually tolerable (yes, even from the bald bastard himself). And the CG is quite nice too! I'm genuinely impressed here! Though, I'll probably stick with GoAnimate\Vyond stuff (while occasionally giving this a watch).

Not impressed. Those whiny voices... brrrr!  I'll stick with the AOK videos.

Daddy Daughter Days: Marielslist

Dad and I went on Craigslist last night just to do some browsing as to what might be out there. Sadly, I won't be able to do any local pickup for a while since I have covid. And here are a few highlights.

First was a VHS lot of various kids shows from my day (was mostly stuff like Sesame Street and some others) when I suddenly notice a Peanuts tape titled "Today Was The Best Birthday Ever, Charlie Brown." Dad's response was "Charlie Brown Christmas. And then just STOP!" which lead us to joke around about some of the more absurd Peanuts specials in the lineup (anybody remember the Easter Beagle?)

Second on the VHS front, I went and saw some "adult tapes" and my dumb brain thought it was home recordings from adult programming blocks like Fox or Adult Swim. But when I clicked on the picture and it said something like "Dildos in Paradise" I knew what I didn't wanna see and just left. (Still gotta buy some AS recordings for my library).

Now whaddya say we take a trip down memory lane tonight with reliving some childhood favorites of mine?

Two conditions.

  1. No Peanuts specials.
  2. We finish up by 8:00 so I can watch the J6 hearings.

Little drawing I made of Glep sitting in the middle of a giant water bed.

Actually nostalgia will need to be put on hold. I got some very exciting news about Smiling Friends!!!! (That will be the focus of tomorrow's post, folks).

Daddy Daughter Days: Summer Covid

I've been having a bit of a cough since yesterday. Mom and I are speculating that it's just a summer cold, but we'll take a COVID test just in case. I'll just be keeping myself occupied with my projects today.

Another thing I wanna mention is that I'm getting back into my writing hobby. So my day may also have some Wattpad fiction writing stuffed into it too. Hopefully I'll be better soon so I don't miss the Comic-Con! (I'll be going later in the day this time around since dad is helping out at church that morning.) Hopefully after dad is finished with that table, we can resume production on the Smiling Friends videos.

UPDATE: Test came back positive :( Gotta miss the Con.....

But fear not! For I have a good source of nostalgic entertainment to back me up. Tarrytown, here I come!

Daddy Daughter Days: Playing Catch Up

What I thought would be a productive work day got turned to shit yesterday afternoon. So there I was, working on a frame for my show, I go to type something up and whaddya know, my keyboard died. Mom and I struggled to change the batteries properly so I waited until dad got home for him to fix it. But hey, at least I got the first 35 seconds done last night!

Dad to the rescue! Keyboard is now functional. "It's just hero stuff, I do it all the time." (LEX)

People online have complained about my "lack of ACTUAL animation" in the past, when really, I was trying to emulate that of storytime YouTubers like JaidenAnimations or TheOdd1sOut. You know what they say, if its on the internet, there are bound to be complaints. (So I'll be fueling the fire by giving them their definition of actual animation. Things like movements, mouth sync, smudge effects, yknow. Things I've been practicing for MONTHS now?)

Huh. That's an odd complaint. There are PLENTY of YouTube "content creators" who simply recycle standard stock static poses unapologetically (I 💗 Sgt Ducky!)  And, folks, keep in mind many of "the big guys" mentioned now have whole crews of animators, storyboard and background artists.

I say, keep doing what you've been doing until you (and you, alone) decide to change it up.

My two cents' worth.
TRAILER TIME!!!!

Daddy Daughter Days: Keeping It Simple

No multiple outings on the weekend this time. But all I really have is a con on the 23rd and will be using Sunday as a way to work on some more projects before and after pantry. One of these projects being a new series for my channel in the means of distracting me from a can of worms that I won't bother opening.

I already have lines for the pilot episode and will get around to animating today perhaps. This is honestly just a series about me and my online friends and nothing else. Care to share updates on the table project, dad?

I'm just about done with the table.  I have to fill & paint over a late-breaking pinhole in the front.  Then it's on to cleaning up the four chairs. And then list the whole shebang on craigslist.

^ Similar to this one ^

Yep.

That's the plan.

Daddy Daughter Days: Fail

Seller I was gonna meet up with wasn't able to make it to the flea market venue. No biggie, I'll just go on the 1st of the month with dad (not too far away!)

On the food pantry front, wasn't too bad today, but I started to get tired when we were working on a large order. Dad and I wound up doing that with a much smaller order before clocking out around 1:00pm. That is, not before I grabbed some stuff from the freebie section. Nothing exciting, just some almond milk (for my grandma) and two cheese Danish pastries. As we walked to the door, dad realized he left our water bottles downstairs and instructed me to wait by the door.

Now, when we were packing one of the orders, I noticed there were bags upon bags of frozen soft pretzels in the freezer! I thought nothing of it since we don't order from pantry unless we're REALLY short on cash (has happened once). So when dad came up, I saw him with the water bottles in one arm and a bag of the pretzels in another. I roll my eyes and we head home.

Don't tell Alan about the cream cheese...

Daddy Daughter Days: False Hope!

Dad and I started our morning by watching part 2 to South Park's "Streaming Wars" and wow...It was a TON to unpack. But I think the part thatstuck out to us was how Randy went back to his old ways from seasons before as a way to save the town! Our hopes were high that this would be a permanent edition to the show, but of course...All good things must come to an abrupt end...

After South Park is saved, Randy simply goes back to the Tegridy route by saying "NOW LET'S ALL SMOKE SOME WEEEEEEEED!" Dad and I were obviously bummed out that TF has yet to end for good. I don't hate TF, but I do think it has run for long enough and I've gotten pretty tired of it. And my love for Tegridy was especially soured after the season 25 finale. I would go into detail, but that would be a whole other can of worms that I don't wanna touch.

After watching the special, we threw some clothes on and stopped at a few yard sales. I wound up with some cool beans. Stuff like VHS tapes (Bob the Builder and JayJay the Jet Plane. Don't judge.) and plushies were added to my collection. Tomorrow, I'll be returning to the flea market to pick up a plush that one of my favorite vendors is holding for me. I'll also be treating myself to some of those goofy Pokemon I love so much.

So yeah. Saturday, amirite?

Daddy Daughter Days: A Busy Morning

It was mom's turn to do bloodwork at the labs today, leaving me to tend to my 3DS while she was being stabbed and jabbed. But afterwards, we went to pick up my grandma so we could go to IHOP!

Was busy, but had a pretty good staff on hand to push the food to their customers. I wound up getting a "French toast combo" and it was pretty good! Hoping we could come by again sometime! After we dropped grandma off at her house, mom and I made a brief trip to Walgreens to pick some pills up.

I also have a local pickup this weekend. Wonder if we could go tomorrow or Sunday before pantry.

Ah, childhood....

Oh, I got the Streaming Wars Part 2 for later!

Daddy Daughter Days: Rain On Our Parade, Why Don'tcha

Well, it looks like avclub.com has a bone to pick with Paws Of Fury

I mean think of this THIS way. Its Dollar General movie material, but they had the balls to release it in theaters! Still think we should see it just to see how bad it really is. Are you willing to take up on this challenge, dad?

I'm interested, as apparently this is a "take" on Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles!" We'll catch it at some point.

Tomorrow I'm going to be seeing an old friend of mine for the first time since 2020. We never had a falling out or bad blood of some kind, we just kinda fell out of touch until his mom contacted us a couple of weeks ago and wanted us to get together! So I'm practically vibrating in my office chair! The "Paws of Fury" viewing will obvious need to be after our trip to see Weird Al. Cuz y'know, ticket master prices are just wonderful! \sarcasm.

But on the bright side!

Will have dad help me order her tonight since he had some details worth mentioning.

PS: SOUTH PARK STREAMING WARS PART II IS OUT. DO ME A FAVOR AND DOWNLOAD OF STAGMA.TV FOR TONIGHT.

I don't have a thumb drive with me, so we can't watch it tonight. But soon!

Daddy Daughter Days: New Day, New Drive

Welp. Its time to start a new thumbdrive to store photos for this as the one I've always used is now full and can't hold anymore stock images OR wacky screenshots I tend to save when watching Smiling Friends.

I just went on to use the drive for the full episodes we pirated. Will probably need to migrate stuff from REVAMPED and the Smiling Friends shorts too, if possible. This probably explains why I couldn't download a good picture of rice krispie treats yesterday.

However, we were able to download the actual rice krispie treats with no problem! 😁 (Nom)

Thank God we're staying home today. Won't need to go anywhere until tomorrow and Friday.

Daddy Daughter Days: Backtracking

So my dad has been working on this old table he got from a friend, it was meant to serve as a replacement for the table we've already got in our kitchen. But uh... There have been some second thoughts.

I hope to finish that project soon. Maybe this weekend..?

So anyways, my mom and I had to run an errand this morning (more grad stuff) which didn't take long. Our afternoon is going smoothly, leaving me to work on a project that I originally wrote a couple of years ago. However, since my mindset has changed over the years (and my writing), there are some things I'll need to change up.

A trailer I made not too long ago when the project was first announced.

Now to move onto concept sketches and some other stuff.

I'm running out of cartoons to post on YouTube. Could this... be the end?

Daddy Daughter Days: Nothing Much.

Just gotta run a few errands today. But that aside, I have some projects on the back-burner that I'm dying to get back to. Dad has his table to work on, so any Smiling Friends projects will be on hold for a while until that is finished.

So pantry went pretty smooth yesterday, there wasn't too much of a crowd (just me, dad, and three or four other people working) which kept me from getting one of my deadly migraines. Plus we got to make rice krispie treats beforehand! I do have a local pickup to take care of sometime this weekend, but in somewhat of a relation, mom and I found the location of a flea market I've been meaning to go to for a while. We shall discuss things in the evening.

ANOTHER ONE?!?!?

Daddy Daughter Days: Beyond Scared Half To Death!

Last night was shot right to hell. So after my little get-together, my mom offered to take some of my friends home since their mom's van was in the shop. So when the time came, one of my friends was holding the door open for me, and for a long time too. So when we all scrambled to the car, all was good.

....Until later.

Mom and I got home and decided to round up the cats since company was gone. Belle came up with no issues, quickly demanding belly rubs from me. But oddly enough, Mimi didn't come up. Mom called her name a few times with no response, which is nothing like Mimi. Cuz she's usually one to respond to her name being called. So we all quickly went into panic mode and check the basement, upstairs, and even outside with no results. Just as I threw in the towel from exhaustion, I went to my room to play Tomodachi Life. Just as I lay in bed, I hear "Oh, there you are, Mimi! MARIEL! I FOUND MIMI!!!!" coming from the basement. Turns out the kitten was fine, she just hid behind some shelves. That little shit...

------------Saturday-----------

I woke up a little earlier than I'd like, mom was still flying around like a bat, getting ready for work. So after catching up some messages, I heated myself up some breakfast and tuned into some good ol Dr. Katz. Cuz it just seemed like that kind of morning.

And now its off to the yard sales with us! TTFN!

Daddy Daughter Days: Thursday Already?!

Time blindness, eh? But yeah, ever since I finished high school, it feels like time is going faster than I'm used to. Maybe it falls more under a "routine change" thing. And next week, I'll be trying to do more chores in hopes of getting more money for the flea market amongst other things.

Also, when mom went to order our tickets for the Weird Al concert, the venue didn't have it listed! Guess its another concert cancelled. Oh well, I'll get to meet the talent behind Shannon someday. This time just wasn't it.

Which is odd, because the concert was still listed on Al's website! We'll look into this later. I've still gotta order Paula before the 14th. (The day that Budsies sale ends...)

Just a heads up, dad. I have my LGBT group tonight.

Daddy Daughter Days: Long Time No Shop

This weekend, dad and I are headed to a Salvation Army that we haven't been to since the pre-covid days. The location in particular also has this warehouse like shop as well, which was the one of the reasons I loved going. I also mentioned stopping at a Goodwill if no success were to come out of this location. That part aside, the weekend is probably gonna be pretty quiet with us mostly working on projects (and food pantry).

And I have that #%@! table I'm painting, too. Why? Because it's FUN!!!

But I do have a bit of a local pickup I'll be making next weekend.

Daddy Daughter Days: Cajun Redhots!

Our second ever Smiling Friends short is in the works! We don't have an official name for it *YET* but we've figured out a few key factors.

1) Charlie and Pim's mission (to help the owner of a hot dog stand smile).

2) A sort of side plot that Alan hasn't been to work in 5 days.

3) The ending where Alan returns to work (I'm sure some people might know where this is going).

4) The name of the hot dog stand! We jotted down some possibilities before settling on the title of "Cajun Redhots" thanks to our friends at Fantasy Name Generator!

Bijou Blackout resumes tonight! (along with the currently untitled second animation).

Just gonna drop this here....

Daddy Daughter Days: 4th of July

I don't have any plans on celebrating today with recent world events, but dad and I have our own little projects to tend to. But I did scrounge up some really cool freezeframes.

Thank you, frame by frame setting on Windows Media Player.

More freezeframe soon!

Daddy Daughter Days: "The Story of GWEEN"

In 2021, I found out about a little show called "Camp Camp." The show was created by the recently defunct "Rooster Teeth&quo...
