Daddy Daughter Days: Time Flies

Wowie! This month came and went.... Wasn't as eventful as I had hoped but I'm glad I made it through. Anyways last night I became indecisive on my next Budsie yet again! Before I announce who the character is, I wanna say that I've got a slight problem.

That problem being I'm trying to save up a ton (and I do mean A TON) of money to make an upgrade on my tablet. If by upgrade, I mean getting a new tablet entirely! I use a standard Kindle fire to communicate with friends from around the globe and just social media things in general. But let's face it, the Amazon Fire has its MANY flaws.

1) An extremely watered down Appstore.

Now the Appstore is one of the many essential things when it comes to owning a smart device, you've got popular apps like Talking Tom (and his many compadres), every social media app under the sun, and other popular apps. Sadly Jeff Bezos failed to deliver.

The Amazon Appstore lacks a TON of content that regular smartphones have. Such as apps like Gacha Club (an app I've been DYING to try out) and others like Snapchat, Videostar, Capcut, pretty much any big name app can't be obtained unless you use some kind of emulator. I could honestly care LESS about using one of those, but until then it's time to save. (Seriously, Amazon. There's a thing called variety.)

2) Quantity over Quality.

First off I will cut Amazon some slack on this one since their kindles were my first smart device (I got my first kindle in 2018 as a middle school graduation present) but the quality of these are VERY mediocre. Mostly gonna talk about the model of the Amazon Fire 7 (The one I used to have) but I have a LOT to say about that particular model...

The first problem that surfaced was not even a day or two after I got it. The storage space is VERY limited.... I had downloaded at least 5 apps (Skype, YouTube, a few games and that was it) this would become a recurring issue as days go by.

Last year, my kindle 7 finally went kaput leading us to get a fire 8 a few weeks later. But seriously, the small amount of storage was a BIG issue with the fire 7. Every few weeks, I'd have to delete a ton of photos from my camera roll which can become quite tedious and in my case depressing after a while.

3) Frequent Crashing

Again, another complaint about fire 7. About a year or two ago, my fire would have these occasions where it would randomly crash with no rhyme or reason. Maybe it was just a sign of mechanical failure and I just didn't know. Either way, Amazon kindles may be a good first smartphone for the kiddies, but do NOT under any circumstance get the fire 7.

So yeah, I'm gonna be putting half of my birthday and Christmas savings towards an Ipad, my dad recently got one from his sister and I've only used it a couple of times. I'm particularly looking for a more recent model (between 2019-present day preferably). Sadly, buying an Ipad brand new can be a challenge as the one I'm invested in, the Ipad Mini, is about $400 all together. So it'll take a LOT of blood and sweat.
See you guys in October!

Daddy Daughter Days: Another Half A$$ed Idea

 Ok hear me out...

So my dad and I have gotten dinner from the local dollar tree stores in the area....well how about we take it to another level and get dinner and a movie from Dollar General! This was an idea I had brought up to my dad some time ago, only for the response of "Well, its a lot more than a dollar but we shall see" initially this was when this was a "Dollar Store" dinner. I'm just considering calling it "Cheapskate dinner" instead.

As noted in the previous post, my dad and I are having a cheapskate night at our local Aldi (hopefully they've got better chilli than the dollar store) and I'll be getting whatever strikes my fancy, most likely a pre made meal.

I'm usually not a fan of potato skins, but these look good!

In other news, I've been feelin a bit homesick this morning, so I'm on Google Maps right now going through my hometown in NC. God I miss that place.... 😞

Daddy Daughter Days: Penny Pincher Weekend

So I was brainstorming while laying in bed this morning. More so regarding this weekend's festivities. I thought about going to a Salvation Army that is a bit further down from our house, they have this bin store behind the building that's open until 4 pm Monday-Saturday. I've gone a few times and scored a bunch of Webkinz (even a Webkinz bat) and my dad got a computer game once but we can't find it atm. I'm also planning on going to the local Amvets in the same area, Amvets is basically if Salvation Army and Goodwill had a baby. That's the best way I can put it.

I've had decent luck at a couple of the Amvets locations in the area since there's one just around the corner from our house, though most of my luck has come from Savers or flea markets\yard sales or just other thrift stores in general. But I'll admit, Amvets has given me good luck with DVDS.

And Sunday? My dad and I are off to the local Aldi to grab a couple ready made meals as well as watching Alpha and Omega. Sooooo yeah, got some good plans for the weekend. Cha CHING!

Sounds like you've planned a pretty busy weekend for us.

A couple things, though.

I have to do some chores, errands and yard work.

Also, Mom is off this weekend, so we may have to make some more inclusive plans.  We might just be going out to dinner with Grandma.

But, as I say, "We shall see..."

In other news, today I'm staying a few hours at my grandma's while my mom helps out at her church, my dad will come to pick me up at 6 pm and we'll make our way home and work on REVAMPED once again :D

Daddy Daughter Days: Your Simp Has Entered!

It was a great run, Joseph. But allow me to introduce you to THIS!

(Its official, I'm a Toki simp)

Sooooo today my mom and I have to run to yet ANOTHER appointment, how wonderful. But hey, I get pizza afterwards!

Gonna be spending my day finishing season 1 of Metalocalypse since I'm only a few episodes away from completion as well as my all important schoolwork. Also planning on watching more of the MLP movie since I haven't finished it just yet.

Tuesday is my mom's shift at the church food pantry, with me staying at my grandma's for a few hours. We usually get a bite to eat someplace and watch a movie afterwards. So that's another thing to look forward to ^^.

Wednesday onwards, I don't know if there's anything special other than the 2-3 week countdown to my Godmother's official visit.

Now enjoy this little chart I made basically showing my daily life.
The struggles of a simp, am I right????

Daddy Daughter Days: Stay at Home Sunday (Or so we thought)

Had a absolute blast yesterday! Turns out meetups started LAST month, either way its good to be back at my home (far away) from home.

Me and my friend Jamie (or her fursona, Uther Pendragon)

My dad wound up getting himself an iced tea from the snack bar while I treated myself to some cheese sticks (one of the best side dishes next to french fries) they came out a bit burnt but nothing really bad. Can't wait to see the gang again next month! (our next monthly meeting is literally the day before Halloween)

Dad and I left around 10 pm ish, we drove off while blasting the "South Park Bigger Longer and Uncut" soundtrack amongst others, just like old times.... Speaking of such...

Its that day today, dad and I are gonna kick back for today until later where we'll have our usual takeout night (It ain't gonna be pizza this time, that's for sure...) Though, Monday is when my mom and I are ALSO getting pizza....sooooo I guess its THAT kind of week I guess. I only have ONE thing to say to that.

YAY!

Update! Dad and I wound up going with his sisters and brother in law to the local harvest festival! It was SO MUCH FUN! We walked around, visited a few shops, and had to get some snacks along the way. I treated myself to some cotton candy and dad got some kettle corn. We’re now at home watching the new MLP movie to promote generation 5! (Jeez am I old) Anyways. Take it away father.

What can I say? I bought a small bag of kettle corn at the "harvest festival" and ate it all as we walked around. While overcast, there was no rain and we got our steps in.  I fell into bad at 8:30 due to all the fresh air and exercise.  Ready for a new work-week!

Daddy Daughter Days: STRIKE!

So it turns out my fursuit group's regularly scheduled bowling nights have been up and running again. Even better, there's one tonight at 8pm, and wanna know who wouldn't dare miss one? .....Me of course! I haven't been to a bowling night since February of last year before a certain cheetohead ignored the fact that a pandemic was spreading and we were all put under lockdown for Lord knows how long.... only downside is the bowling lane is further away from our house, but we've gone there before so its really nothing new. But nothing beats a good weekend than some late night bowling I tell ya H'what.

(Hehe, sorry. Just had to add that lil reference...)

So thoughts on pizza from last night? Well, once we arrived, my dad and I realized that the pizza place seems to be one big watering hole on Friday nights (If you live in the area, I'm sure you tend to see other people get a fish fry and a cold one.) Once we got inside, we were greeted by a storm of chatter and other loud noises.... That somehow didn't bother me, I'm usually very sensitive to loud sounds but I've gotten better I guess... me and my parents wound up getting a cheese, pepperoni, and onion pizza accompanied by a jumbo soft pretzel...

What would we rate the food?

Well the pizza was pretty good, nice onions and had a very nice crust. Only downside is the pepperoni was TOO THICK and not the traditional "Cupped and Charred" my family and I have grown to love...

Jumbo pretzel was good, came with three dipping sauces.

-Mustard

-Cheese

- "Boom Boom Sauce"

My dad REALLY enjoyed the Boom Boom Sauce, even asking to have it in our takeout box shortly before we left. I'll have my dad put in his 2 cents next time he's on the computer. Catch you guys tomorrow after our fun trip to the bowling alley!

Oh, yeah. That soft pretzel was the size of a catcher's mitt and was served on it very own chrome stand!

The Boom-Boom sauce was zesty with just the right amount of heat.  I had some with a chunk of the soft pretzel and continued using it to dip my pizza crust.  A-One rating on the Boom-Boom, yo.

And, yeah, the joint was too noisy. Thudding music playing on speakers and everyone hollering at each other. Might be worth a re-visit for lunch, maybe?

Good to see my two sisters and my-brother-in-law, so overall a good evening.

Daddy Daughter Days: "Guess Who's Got Two Thumbs and A Day Off From Work!"

 MY DAD!

Yep! My sister from Michigan is in town, so I put in for a whole day of vacation so we could "hang."

Yep, he managed to take the day off today after a hectic few weeks. So far, both of us have spent the morning playing Bookworm Adventures Deluxe as it was common for us to bee seen playing this often addictive game back in the day.

So in terms of actual projects? We might just focus on relaxing today and worry about them later. Speaking of which....

And guess what my sister wanted to do? Yes...

WE'RE GOING OUT FOR PIZZA....Again. (j/k, I NEVER turn down pizza) especially since we've got a lot of local mom and pop places around here.

LSO MAJOR UPDATE: I JUST FOUND OUT MY FURSUIT GROUP HAS A DISCORD SERVER! I have been unbale to keep in contact due to my dad's Facebook hiatus as well as the fact that I am currently unable to own a FB account as of right now.

Anyway, back to Bookworm ^^

Daddy Daughter Days: Just One More!

In the home stretch with my song composition.

Ha!  I just tried playing these. They're just pictures. D'OH!!

I just have 1 more song to compose and then its onto voice recording for me!

Anyway, its a busy day for me and mother, we have the following:

A Doctor's Appointment

Shopping for groceries

stay home for a few hours

MORE SHOPPING

Either way, it tires us BOTH out! Just gonna spend the day watching reality shows like Supernanny and Wife Swap to pass the time.

(What can I say? Reality TV shows are just a guilty pleasure for me...)

Update! Back from the store! I wound up spending about $8 worth of allowance money on a Bluey figure! Our local grocery store, Wegmans, has a toy aisle (as a majority of stores do) and usually they don't carry much that would be up my alley....or at least the LAST time I was there before I was granted the right to stay home on my own. But I was very surprised to see that they're carrying a lot of stuff that most kids (myself included) would ACTUALLY want! There were figures and fidget toys galore! But before I decided to buy another mildly expensive gadget to cope with my wacked out brain, I spot some Bluey toys out of the corner of my eye. Wasn't much to choose from as the only characters were Bluey herself and another character named Honey. Each figure was $7.99 a piece which to me is a bit much for one figure plus an accessory But hey, as long as it makes the kids happy!

(Planning on returning next week for Honey.)

Daddy Daughter Days: The Train of Thought

Today marks my 5th anniversary of when I (or rather my dad) started up my very own YouTube channel. I remember getting that phone call on a weekday night and almost SCREAMING with joy! I had wanted a YouTube channel since I was 9 at the time and finally getting one gave me a chance to unleash my creativity!

Speaking of creativity.....

I've been hard at work with the soundtrack for our upcoming "Halloween Humbug" short. I have one or two more songs to program and then I'll be ready (music wise) but things are piecing together. Tonight, dad will be looking at our rough draft for the script and tweak some things to make it more like you're watching a video rather than reading a 15 year old blog post.

Can't wait to hear your soundtrack music.

We've also got family visiting this weekend so my dad might be out of commission with working on these projects. But don't worry, I've got myself and a few other people to help with projects of my own!

Apparently, pizza WILL be part of the family visit, so there's that!😉

But you SHOULD expect a 5 year anniversary video coming soon.

I'm giving the soundtrack a kind of Chocobo's Dungeon feel to it, while sticking to the spooky theme of Halloween. Took inspiration from these tracks specifically.

(I could NOT for the life of me find the song in the video of Meddit's Memories)

Daddy Daughter Days: Did Somebody Say Hot Dogs?

 Working on ANOTHER SOAN!WAY script.

This was based on a blog post from 2007 about my dad trying a less than stellar hot dog joint in North Carolina. We will be looking through the rough draft on the Halloween script tonight hopefully.

Those were some sad frankfurters, let me tell you... 😐

ALSO! I was at church last night for a dinner with the committee that is in charge of my job, we were talking about when to start working again and we agreed some time in January (as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas meals this year)

Exciting stuff. Also doing some planning ONCE AGAIN for the weekend!

Daddy Daughter Days: Tales of Times Past

So last night, I was going through some VERY old blog posts my dad made back in the day (we're talkin 15 years ago) and I stumbled upon a post from Halloween 2006 where he detailed his thoughts on the well known Peanuts Special "Its the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and it got me thinking....

My dad has a YouTube Channel called "SOAN!WAY" where he took an old blog post and made it into an animated short (with yours truly) and that was gonna be the initial formula for the channel (as well as some shorts) so I thought this Halloween short would be PERFECT for a special of sorts... All we've completed are the first script draft AND title card

Now to go through more blogs to see what would be "YouTube-Worthy"

I'll have to look over what we have and make sure it translates into a video.  Some things that are written to be read sometimes need tweaking to get it "watchable."

Maybe we can get to work recording the soundtrack..?

This sounds like a job for Soundtrap!

Daddy Daughter Days: Sunny Days

The long awaited trip to the flea market day is finally here. My mom came to me last night after her night shift telling me there'd be rain today. I then look out the window this morning and its perfectly fine, she probably just got something mixed up. Either way, I've got $18 in spending money (with an extra $20 aside for my next Budsie) then later in the evening, my dad and I are off to Andersons. (Hopefully we don't wind up arriving 5 minutes before closing.... that's a story for another day...) Thus ending a fun weekend.

So, Pokemon update. I did some research on where these cursed figures of mine are from, unsurprisingly, they're from bootleg sites like Wish and Aliexpress. A fellow blogger on this site actually did a review on a set their friends got for them. (Idk the gender, always good to use they\them when unsure) Probably gonna stick to buying them locally for the time being. As for the content my dad and I will be making with them, It'll be based off of the "Pokepark Wii" lineup of games.

And I was talking with my dad about how some of the sets are primarily gonna be homemade, I will include some buildings from the Playmobil franchise. So....that's something I guess.

In other news, the Home Movies project is still in development! We haven't had time to work on it cuz of our busy schedules. But I assure you its coming

Update: Flea Market trip was a success (as per usual.) I wound up getting a Theodore plush from Alvin and the Chipmunks (marking my 6th Theo in the collection) for about $5 (the usual asking price for AATC plushies from what I've had at thrift shops and flea markets) also got a Webkinz cotton candy bunny for $2 and some MORE CURSED POKEMON for $1 each (the lady selling them gave me 2 free ones) so I wound up with at least $9 worth of fake Pokemon figures. Will do a seperate post detailing the ones I wound up with today. Next update will be our thoughts on Andersons later!

Update: Just found out the Andersons is now closed on Sundays for some oddball reason. So ad and I are gonna hit the DQ instead. I need some ice cream today after a long hot walk at the flea market, who knows, father might wanna treat himself too!

Daddy Daughter Days: Another Day, Another Con.

Kickin it weekend style! My dad doesn't have to cover for anybody today for a change since the co worker in question is supposed to return Monday. But in the meantime.... WE'RE GOING TO ANOTHER COMIC-CON!!! I'll be going as an oldie but a goodie, Carol MCCormick from South Park. I haven't gone to a public outing in the costume for 2 years and just thought it'd be her time to shine.

(Circa 2019)

The only thing that'll be missing are the braces (which have since been taken off as of last November) and now that I'm fully vaccinated, I won't need to wear a mask! Though... I'll take one with me just in case.

And tomorrow... WE'RE GOING TO THE FLEA MARKET!

Yep, the weather finally decided to cooperate with us. So why not savor it by spending time outdoors, right? And later that day, we'll be heading to the local "Anderson's" since I have a coupon for $4 off two regular or large sundaes.

Looks like a pretty exciting weekend....

Update: Con was a success. I wound up buying $4 worth of knockoff Pokémon figures. Hung out with a group of cosplayers and had a blast, my dad was mostly waiting in the car, now what I have to worry about getting one of the figures out from BEHIND A SHELF in our basement.....ugh....

The chonks

A dramatic fight between 2 poochyenas and zigzagoons

and our beloved Chonkerita

We got a local guy who sells these at cons and craft shows. He has a deal of 3 Pokémon for a dollar each so why not take the shot. If we ever see him again, I'll definitely be spending my hard earned dollars on these again. Especially the surprisingly well made Pikachus .

My dad and I will be making some stop-motion shorts with these possibly, and might upload them to his "SO AN!WAY" Channel
And an update on Carol! The camera is inverted so that's why it looks weird.

I didn't come away from the Comicon empty-handed. I scored a free comic called "Allergic."

Missed opportunity: Her name should have been Anna Phallactic.

It's a heart-warming (to me, at least) story of a little girl who couldn't have a pet because she's deathly allergic to them. Ah, if only life would imitate art.

Daddy Daughter Days: Just a Downtown Girl

Had my evaluation today. The doctors there were very nice and patient with me (I was expecting the worst) and will be scheduled with an over the phone follow up! My mom and I had to drive downtown to do this. So here's how the morning started

Woke up super early (talkin 5:30-6:00)

Both of us had a light breakfast while dealing with two screaming cats

Threw some clothes on and got out the door.

Arrived at the location, and had to park in their dark parking garage.

Soooo....simple yet complicated at the same time... I did some testing with one of the doctors for about 2-3 hours until noon where my mom and I took a brief lunch break.

The place had a small cafe where my mom and I got ourselves a couple slices of pizza. Wasn't too bad though I would keep the prices lower.

After lunch, we went back up and did more small tests and that was pretty much it. The following is another synopsis.

Walked back to the parking garage

mother proceeded to drive around in circles before we got outta there.

Listened to some Grease as we made our way back on the throughway

And the best part? We made our way to the local diner and got ourselves something to actually fill us up. Mother got herself a fish fry and I got some french toast. What a day!

Daddy Daughter Days: Upgrade Needed.

So my "Medibang Paint" program on the computer is outdated and I have been wanting to get an upgrade. My dad and I have been leaning on this program and PaintTool.sai for about 2 years. I'm considering trying out Krita since it functions very similarly to Medibang. My dad tried setting up Krita back when we started getting a more updated paint program to animate, cuz let's face it, we were both getting very sick of drawing in MS Paint.

I'll look at some eligible programs today while my mom is out running errands. Then on the weekend, my dad and I can narrow it down and see which one would be a good fit for us.

In other news, I'm back into my AATC fixation.

That's it...

Daddy Daughter Days: A Greasy Review (Part 2)

So I had just received my copy of "Grease 2" yesterday. Me nor my dad have high hopes for it but since I'm an official "Greaser" It is my duty that I give it a watch. It seems slightly promising by the cover alone, all new casting aside. Will update later on my thoughts on the movie. If its a flop, it'll leave a bad mark on the year 1982. then again all pop culture from the 80s was as my dad puts it "fruity" anyway....

Update: I watched a good portion of the movie so far, from what I see it isn't the worst movie I've seen, but it ain't as good as the original. So here are my pros and cons as I continue

Pros!

Songs are pretty good (from what I have heard so far) but some lack the good writing that the original had

Frenchie returning is always good to see!

Pretty decent casting from what I see.

From what I've seen so far, the plot isn't as bad as I anticipated, I'd consider it mediocre to alright.

"Cool Rider" Was a banger!

So far my favorite character is Stephanie.

Cons:

Some of the dialogue is a bit sloppy in my opinion.

"Woodchuck" is a tad bit annoying.

Some of the plot points so far can be a little confusing or could be fleshed out.

The song about reproduction was disgusting and unfunny. 🤮

My overall rating of Grease 2? 5\10. I mean its good, just doesn't hold up to the original.

I'll have to watch Grease first to see how Grease 2 stacks up.  One thing's for sure; that G2 soundtrack didn't seem to spawn the tidal wave of AM radio hits that the original did.

So today is another one of those stay at home days. And me and my mom couldn't be happier. Tomorrow is gonna be a bit of a switch up from the normal schedule as I will be heading to the supermarket with my mom for the first time in over a year. Usually when my mom does the weekly shopping, I'll stay home and work on my own oddities. But tomorrow is an exception of sorts. Then on Friday, I have a neuro evaluation, this is to prepare me for the frightening world of college since I don't function like normal people my age no matter how hard I try. My therapist and a couple other people are speculating that it might be autism which has started to catch up on me, if that is the case, I'll only do one thing....

Mask. As. Much. As. Possible.

Daddy Daughter Days: The Quest For Balto

So I went on Ebay to see if Balto II had a DVD release considering it came out in 2002 and was worried that it was a VHS only release, thankfully all 3 movies were in fact released on both platforms. So today  My mom and I are in the mood for pizza, idk why but it just kind of turned out that way for the two of us. Also our 4 year old cat, Belle is obsessed with this baby toy I got in my grab bag with Bingo.

Basically mom was going through the other toys from the bag (this baby toy and a generic claw machine goldfish that we just wound up throwing away.) and Belle just kinda got attached to it. (My guess is the rattle inside is what got her) So either way, we MIGHT get pizza tonight depending on whether we have the money (I'M PRAYING THAT WE DO!!!!)

Update: I had recently found out that Norm Macdonald has passed away today. He was 61. I mention this cuz I know my dad was a fan of his. At least he's with Mitch Hedberg now.

Quite true!  I've been a fan of Norm's work for about 30 years. Strangely enough, my brother (also a big fan) had been sending me you tube links to some classic ND material these past few weeks.  Turns out Norm has been living with cancer for nine years and he kept it an air-tight secret so he could continue being funny.

Hey, speaking of Mitch Hedberg...

Daddy Daughter Days: Doctor Crentist

Yep....its one of those days. Mother and I have to stop at the dentist today. I typically hate going there because they always nit pick me about something! Mostly along the lines of "You aren't brushing your teeth properly" or "You should floss more" it just never ends....

NEWSFLASH: Our dentist isn't actually named "Crentist"

Afterwards, my mom and I are off to Savers....again.... MORE SHOPPING! Will update you guys if I find anything that catches the eye.

In other news, due to being unable to attend the Poundstone concert, I've been relentlessly checking the "tour" page on her official website every so often, so far there aren't any plans for returning to the area we live in. But I'm sure it'll happen again. I'll be keeping an eye out for ANOTHER Home Movies actor\comedian and see if he will be doing tours again any time soon.

Hopefully this image should give you guys time to connect the dots...

Time for everybody's favorite part, the SAVERS UPDATE!!!!!

My mom found some new pairs of shorts for me which was nice. But I grabbed a couple movies and a plush since the toys were pretty picked over this time around.
first up, Bingo Heeler from Disney's "Bluey"

Found Bingo in one of the grab bags along with some other goodies that caught my eye, I saw some Lil Kinz huskies from Webkinz but decided to leave them since I'm saving money for the flea market on Sunday. I do have some Bluey plushies already (those being Bluey and Lucky) so Bingo is a great edition! This one is specifically the "Please Eyed" version.

Movie Time!!!!!

Managed to get TLK on DVD as well as Alpha and Omega 1 (yep, the first of what would become an 8 movie franchise...) still no sightings of Balto or Balto II. Will keep Alpha and Omega in mind for me and dad's next Dollar Store dinner.

Either way, a fairly successful trip to Savers (and the dentist)

Daddy Daughter Days: Why Not Be Outdoor When You Can Go Indoor

Flea Market plans are being pushed to next Sunday due to the weather being crap. My master plan was dad and mom would attend outdoor service at church while I stayed home and did my own thing. Then after a quick lunch, we would set out. Last night, mom came home from her night shift and told us there'd be rain and storms today. Well... time to move on to plan B.

So we have a mall a slight ways down where they have 3 antique stores. Its a no brainer! We're indoors, get to do some shopping, get out of the house for a bit. After that, my dad and I head over to the Dollar Tree to pick up our dinner. One of the main reasons that lead me to this idea is that I'm trying to get some more movies to watch on my DVD player. Specifically, Balto II Wolf Quest. I had watched the movie on Kimcartoon the other day and I won't lie... it was pretty good! Some of the elements SCREAMED early 2000s (cuz it was released in 2002) which kind of pulled at the heartstrings since I grew up in those times.

This cunning trickster shall wait for her father whilst listening to "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me"

Back from the mall. I wound up finding Balto III: Wings of Change (which I haven't seen) for $2.50 along with some Littlest Pet Shops, a Sensory Toy, and a Webkinz Signature. Checked EVERY SHELF in the the DVD section for Balto II but no dice. Will HOPEFULLY be heading to the flea market next Sunday in hopes of finding the first and second movie. Anyways, my dad and I bought our dinners and plan on watching Balto III while we eat.

Alright so here's our ratings on the food:

Pop n Chicken: 9\10. Only con is that the chicken was a bit tough this time around but oh well.

Snapps Cheese Sticks: 8\10 this was probably not the company's fault; we probably didn't cook them all the way through. So it was a bit cold in the middle. Better luck next time.

Now me and my dad's thoughts on Balto III

Not bad. The animation got a massive upgrade compared to II with it being a lot smoother. Plot was a bit corny but good. And get this.... PEGGY FRICKIN HILL WAS IN IT! Well... her voice actor but still. I'd give it a 9.5\10 too bad Balto IV doesn't exits though. Anyways here's dad with his thoughts on his dinner and the movie.

I picked up a frozen "Asian Style Beef and Broccoli" entrée.  I was worried about the "beef" but it was pretty good! Nice ginger sauce. I'll give this a nine out of ten. (MUCH better than that can of chili I got last time!)

I know nothing of the "Balto" franchise. In fact, I had it confused with Disney's "Bolt" and the "Alpha and Omega" series.

No expectations going in.  I thought much of the character animation was good. Maurice LaMarche voiced Balto and Charles (Roger Rabbit!) Fleischer voiced Boris, the goose.  Kevin Bacon and Bob (Roger Rabbit!) Hoskins voiced them in the original.

The plot centers around a dog-versus-machine competition to see whether the mail out of Nome, Alaska will be delivered by dog team or by aircraft.  Pretty bland, by-the-numbers stuff, but dressed up with a good voice cast and very decent anthro characters!  Good enough to go with the Dollar Tree dinner, so a thumbs up.

Daddy Daughter Days: On the Clock

Don't you just hate being rushed? Having to take over for somebody when all you wanna do is RELAX? Having to worry about someone arriving half an hour early??? Well if you said yes to these things, you officially relate to me and my dad.

Yeah, this is the second time in a month I have to go in on Saturday to cover for someone that I've been covering for since Thursday.  Maybe if I was faster at doing her job during the week, I wouldn't have to work these weekend shifts. But I'm not, so here I am.

So since I'll be staying home this evening after some fine dining and shopping, I (and my dad) will be working on a script for one of my little Home Movies shows. But Jeebus is it a pain. 1) my dad has to cover for someone today for as he called it "unpaid overtime" and 2) as much as I enjoy dining at a Mexican restaurant, my mom and I always have to worry about my grandma arriving EARLY! Here is how a conversation will go.

Mom: So we're good with 11:00 am right?

G: yep.

(the next day)

Me casually playing My Talking Angela 2

G pulls up in the driveway a mere 30 minutes before she was supposed to get here.

Me: Well shit...

Hopefully Sunday won't be a pain in the ass for me or my dad. Besides dad can reward himself at the flea market with some nice kettle corn.

Here's to a fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Well, isn't that just perfect!

Daddy Daughter Days: Its Friday Already?????

Jesus Christ when is this whole "Date Derealization" trend gonna end?!? (Hey that rhymed) Either way my mind has been out of sorts due to being nervous about my neuro evaluation on the 17th. They're basically gonna check to see if I have any learning difficulties (I.E. Potentially label me as autistic or ADHD just to get their money.) But I have contemplated the fact that I might actually have autism. I mean, I get extremely fixated on certain stuff (my main fixation being Home Movies as of now) and I have always had some learning difficulties where I'd get distracted for a few seconds but would reel myself back in. Not trying to self diagnose myself or anything, but it IS possible (according to me and my therapist to an extent)

Anyways my Godmother ordered me Grease 1 and 2 on Amazon, she told me she's never seen the second movie much to my surprise. So maybe dad gets to actually check out the first movie once and for all! Don't really have plans for tomorrow since the Poundstone concert is out of the question. Might just kick back and have dad help me out with some of my projects.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could give Paula some Buffalo, NY sponge candy?

It sure would, dad. Hopefully the two of us will cross paths in the near future!

At least we get to go out for Mexican for lunch tomorrow.....

Yeah, and I get to go back in to work for more un-paid overtime. 😡

Daddy Daughter Days: Peeling Onions

So this morning, I had gotten a little sketch drawing of Paula Small that was sitting on the kitchen table. It said "Click on the "message 4 Mariel" icon on the downstairs computer" which is where I post my portion of the blogs and my dad responds on his computer at work. So I go downstairs with Brendon in my arms, I mean duh, a letter from his mom has to mean something. So I clicked on the icon and I never expected to have my pupils turn into black saucers at 9 in the morning. Paula Poundstone herself sent me a personalized letter basically saying she'll miss seeing me at the show and that there will be many more chances to come see her. Will be writing a personal "thank you" video\email or something to send back as a token of my appreciation. I assure you I'm peeling onions at my desk right now as I make a animation of one of my characters. Something tells me this weekend is gonna be a blast!

In other news, today is fast food Thursday, maybe a celebration pizza is in order???? Needless to say, this personalized message will be on the computer for years to come.

By the way.... that peeling onions thing was a joke. I'm perfectly fine, I wasn't ACTUALLY emotional

Daddy Daughter Days: Wasted Time = Saved Money

Turns out my dream of meeting Paula Poundstone up close in person has been crushed, much like everything else I want like my self esteem. Basically the idiotville pharmacies in the area aren't taking covid tests UNLESS you have some kind of smart device! Which as of now is something our family does not have. But hey, I have $80 (soon to be $90) saved up, maybe a Paula Small Budsie is in order?????

I am crushed, as well.  You saved and looked forward to this all summer. 😢

Anyways, the weather is a bit gloomy today, contributing to my already existing disappointment. No bother, cuz I'm gonna see if the old man and I could head to the local flea market on Sunday followed by our Dollar Store dinner (minus the less than stellar chili) but let's see how the weekend plays out now that my trip to the concert is cancelled.

Dollar Store chili? Yeah... NO!

In other news, I'm trying for the life of me to sell some old toys as a way to earn a little extra dough until my job is back up and running in the fall. I have a box of assorted toys, a polly pocket set, and a couple of stuffed animals already priced. Basically trading in AJ all over again.

Daughter Days: IMDB....TV?!?

So this morning I woke up to find out my Kindle Fire had updated, ok that's fine. Then when I opened up my menu whilst rubbing my eyes, I noticed a new app was added. Apparently IMDB now has a streaming service called "IMDB TV" which honestly really peaked my interest. So I opened up the app, waited a few minutes because it was lagging, and the menu finally showed up. I was then greeted to a wide range of movies and TV shows. From Pokemon to....ugh.....Big Comfy Couch.... (God I frickin hate that show) so aside from THAT dumpsterfire, I decided to look through the other catagories to see if they had "Mustard Pancakes" available for my viewing, I haven't found it (yet) but did stumble upon other shows i liked such as "Kitchen Nightmares" and "Dance Moms" so... looks like I've got quite a bit to look forward too with this app!

In other news, I'm off to get my 2nd vaccine as well as a COVID TEST. Gotta get ready for that concert you know. I've come SO FAR and will not be missing this for the entire world.

What a way to start the first day of senior year...

Daddy Daughter Days: The Next Jimmy Monet????

Ok so the title might be pushing since A, I'm a girl and B, not all that attractive. But as of last night, I signed up for Soundtrap and got cracking on COMPOSING MY OWN MUSIC! For those who don't know what Soundtrap is, its a online site that allows you to record and compose your own songs. Of course, with some sites there is a price to pay. Of course, being the cheapskate I am, I'll be sticking with the free member ship for the time being until I find some way to make my own money. My current purpose for this site is to get certain chords for some of the guitars to use as sound effects for the season finale of my show. And for a free membership, you sure do have a fairly plentiful amount of options!

Wow! I look forward to hearing what you come up with! 👍

So tomorrow is my first day back at school, ah senior year.... It honestly feels like I'm on a drug trip to think that I'm actually finishing school. Like, it feels like just yesterday I was 5 and 6 years old at an open  house in North Carolina. But that was 12 years ago or so.

Wanna know the best part about homeschooling? You don't have to hold anything in when you need to use the bathroom!

And of course, other stuff.

Until then, consider me a member of SCAB in the making.

Daddy Daughter Days: A Greasy Review

So I finished watching "Grease" last night. I expected the absolute WORST since my mom hated this movie when her sister (my Godmother) would take her to the theater to see it. But guess I was wronged again (this is another Home Movies case methinks....) So.... this movie was definitely entertaining to watch. I won't go too much into detail since I'm not that good at explaining movie plots at times. So here are my pros and cons.

Pros

-Great acting! (specifically from Olivia Newton John and John Travolta)

-VERY catchy music (Listening to "You're The One That I Want" as I'm typing this up...)

- Plot was pretty good, though some parts felt a bit rushed or dragged on at times.

- A good majority of the characters were very enjoyable.

Cons.....

- Rizzo is VERY unlikeable in my opinion and one other character, forgot who it was, is just a stereotypical "dumb blonde"

- We Go Together is an AWFUL song and no one can convince me otherwise.

-like noted above, some plots and scenes were either too rushed or dragged out. Like the whole thing where Sandy wanted to change herself, that plot could have been a little more fleshed out, like I dunno.. include a shopping spree scene or something?

Overall. A very enjoyable movie. Give it a 9\10. It would be a solid 10 if it wasn't for "We Go Together" My dad says he wants to try and watch it later to give his own thoughts since he said "I think the only reason I disliked this movie was because of John Travolta." So hopefully you'll get to hear his opinion :D

In other news, today is the 1 year Shanniversary (see what I did there) of when this little bastard made it to my house.

NO REGRETS!

Father and I are celebrating by going to Wendy's to grab ourselves, and Shannon, a bite. Probably gonna get my "baconator" with a side of fries. Then afterwards, a video call with friends while my dad watches Grease.

Daddy Daughter Days: "The Story of GWEEN"

In 2021, I found out about a little show called "Camp Camp." The show was created by the recently defunct "Rooster Teeth&quo...
